Top 5 Cameron Diaz films
10/03/2010

Cameron Diaz is undoubtedly one of Hollywood's biggest stars and with The Box being released on DVD and Blu-Ray, we thought we'd take a look at the top 5 films that have defined her career.

1) The Mask (1994)

The film that picked her from obscurity and turned her into an instant celebrity. Diaz was only 22 and working as a model in California when she auditioned for the role of Tina Carlyle and was lucky to get it - the producers of the film almost decided to cast an up-and-coming Anna Nicole Smith instead. Lucky for us they didn't! (Source: IMDb)

2) There's Something About Mary (1998)

Without a doubt, one of the funniest films of the 90s and the role that turned Diaz into a superstar and sky-rocketed her salary. You only have to mention "franks and beans" and ask "Is that hair gel?" to anyone and they will instantly know you're referring to this classic.

3) Being John Malkovich (1999)

Being one of the weirdest and most wonderfully inventive movies in recent memory, the role of Lotte was Diaz's chance to show her versatility and critics liked it, earning her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

4) Charlie's Angels (2000)

One of the biggest chicks-kicking-ass films ever that spawned a successful sequel and set Diaz's bank balance with too many zeros to count! She reported earned $US12,000,000 for the first film and $US20,000,000 for Full Throttle. Not a bad way to earn a crust... (Source: IMDb)

5) Shrek (1 - 4; 2001, 2004, 2007 & 2010)

Playing the loveable Princess Fiona, the Shrek series has cemented Diaz as one of the most in-demand actresses in the world today. Producers have announced that this will be the final instalment in the franchise.
