Synopsis: Based on a true story. An ordinary day for young Agnes' is anything but. She shares her life with her two younger sisters, (Sophia Bairley and Chloe Grace Moretz) and their drug-addicted, prostitute mother Sarah (Selma Blair) living in, and surviving 'The Poker House'.
Duval, lover and pimp (Bookeem Woodbine), tears their world apart, piece by piece, dealing drugs, abuse and prostitution in the family home overrun by gamblers, thieves and johns. Beautifully crafted and featuring breakout performances by a trio of young actresses. Petty's film has at its heart the candid assertion that while the world can be cruel, good things can happen to people who need them; a bittersweet story that celebrates the strength of three young sisters and the power of determination.
Actress Lori Petty makes her directorial debut with this poignant, beautifully crafted film about a teenage girl trying to survive the dismal circumstances of her life with dignity, humor, and basketball.
