Synopsis: Jack (Edward Norton) is an insomniac desperate to escape his boring life. After meeting Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), they discover that they both have the hobby of partaking in different social help groups, pretending they are afflicted with everything from over-eating to testicular cancer. Then Jack meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), a soap salesman who doesn't source his product in the conventional way. Tyler also has very unconventional beliefs, the main one of which is that self-improvement is for weak people; self-destruction is what leads to true enlightenment. To prove his point, Jack and Tyler start beating the crap out of each other, a cathartic battle that delivers Jack newfound joy. Jack and Tyler then decide to form a secret Fight Club that strangely enough becomes quite popular with other natives of the city. However, there's a surprise waiting for Jack that in the end will change everything about his new life. Pitt and Norton literally knocked viewers out with their performances in this astoundingly unique, dark but humorous film by David Fincher.

  • Fight Club is a feature film about a young who lives a seemingly perfect life but suffers from insomnia. He meets a stranger whose name is Tyler Durden on an airplane and his life begins to take a sharp turn around. He and his new friend Tyler become the leaders of an underground fighting rink, which soon gets out of hand.

Fight Club is a magnificently crafted and original film which challenges how we look at society. The film contains a message that is carried throughout the film about materialism and how it controls us all, how no-one who lives in this society is truly free. This can be seen through one of the many lines from Tyler "the things you own end up owning you. It's only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything".

  • Fantastic movie and acting from Brad, Edward and Helena. Plenty of twists and turns.
